What is my Life's Purpose?

>> Thursday, November 12, 2009

What am I going to do with my life? What is my life's purpose? Why am I here?

Trying to find your life's purpose is something that everyone has thought of at one point- and some of us may spend time stressing. Whatever you are doing right now, int his moment, is your lifes purpose. How inane is it! To get caught up in what might happen in 'the future' or how you can find fufillment in your life when everything you ever needed is right here, right now.

When we "awaken," we have stepped out of the external and mind dominated world, the thoughs in our head, the drama, and we have internally aligned. We have connected to the source.

Awakening if the first step to realizing your life's purpose. When you awaken, there is a shift in consciousness and you no longer take the thinker in your head so seriously, and you begin to understand the fleetingness of all things.

The only purpose we have to consciously evolve. Any other purpose that we have is an outer purpose.

When we are internally aligned our outer purpose is no longer of such great importance. We may pursue a career, or embark on some on a journey, but when we are in balance internally our outer purpose will fall into place.

Our life's purpose is ever changing and always evolving. We are not meant to do one thing for the rest of our lives. Whatever you are doing right now is your life's purpose. Why? Because this is the experience we are having right now. Everything else - past and more frequently future moments - are only a seemingly important facade that the mind makes up.

Nothing Matters / Everything Matters

"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle."
-Albert Einstein

Do certain events bear more importance in your life? Do you put certain people above others? Do you feel like you are 'waiting for something to happen' until you can truly be happy and start enjoying 'your' life?

When we start putting more importance on certain events in our life, being anxious, or waiting for something to happen, we start living out of harmony. Instead of enjoying life as we are all meant to do, we get caught up in the day-to-day drama.

Of course, bills need to be paid and certain things need to be done. But do they really require all your energy? Are bills or whatever other kind of drama so important that they occupy your thoughts and seep the life out of other moments you have on earth?

Our thoughts change our perception. Although situations in life may seem to differ, bear more importance, more stress, more happiness.. when it comes down to it they are one in the same.

When we aknowledge that nothing matters or everything matters, our view of life changes. If we choose to believe that nothing matters, our perception of life changes and we choose to live in a state of awareness and enjoy what surrounds us. If we believe that everything matters, we cherish every present moment no matter the form that it appears in.

What If You Could Live Your Life Over?

If you had the chance to start from scratch, to begin your life again with all the knowledge of everything that you have learned thus far.. what would you change?

Would you finally tell someone how you felt? Forgot about old grievances and forgive and old friend?

The secret is that every moment is a chance to turn it all around - that is why this moment is called the present. There is absolutely nothing is holding you back from being everything that you have possibly ever imagined wanting to be! Don't be fooled by a world obsessed with thoughts, material gain, or climbing the so-called "corporate" ladder.

Chase your dreams no matter where they will take you. Follow your heart even if it means turning your back on the whole world.

If I could live my live over I would:
Never be afraid to tell people how I felt.
Let the people that I know how much I love them.
I would show more kindness to strangers.
I would worry less about money, bills, or anything 'important.'
I would spend more time in nature.
I would have more compassion and understanding for other people.
I would watch less and read more.
I would do one thing a day that scared me.
I would worry less about what people thought about me, and more about what I thought about other people.
I would listen more and talk less.

Love & Relationships

>> Sunday, November 8, 2009

Are there any truly authentic relationships?

If we continue to look for someone to fill a gap, make ourselves happy, or otherwise give us something that we can not give ourselves, we will continue to find unhappiness. The more expectations we have, the more disappointments we will discover.

"Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get - only with what you are expecting to give - which is everything."
Katharine Hepburn

That is not to say that we cannot expect a certain level of respect from someone, or that by not having expectations we are inviting or welcoming any form of abuse. On the contrary, by not having expectations and being one with what happens we simply invite the same love and compassion that we award the world.

Living your life waiting for someone to come along and make 'you' complete pales the magnificent life that you could and should be living! When you live in a complete state of acceptance, finding a meaningful relationship loses it's importance.

Life will give you whatever experience that is most helpful in this moment. Even if a relationship feels 'so right' and everything is 'perfect,' attachment to anything will cause anguish. All things are fleeting: relationships included.

A significant other can not give you happiness! They can trick you and temporarily give you am egoic sense of happiness, but when this person in question is out of the picture.. what are you left with?

Beware of anyone who declares 'I don't like playing games.' Although this person may truly believe that they in fact want to be genuinely open, by calling attention to 'game playing' they are in fact bring more energy to the very thing they oppose.

Cherish the good people in your life. Enjoy every moment you have with them because there will be a time when you will no longer be able to see them again!
